How Does Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Happen?

Sometimes, we have changes to our body or systems.

Pregnancy is a huge contributor to bladder dysfunction usually in terms of leaking.  It is amazing that most women survive this body-altering event, over and over again so leaking is to be expected.  It is a little different than what described above and is mostly due to Stress Incontinence. This can be due to a tight pelvic floor, a weak pelvic floor, or a sleepy pelvic floor. Check out the blog to get a better understanding.

Other pathological or disease processes can affect our Pee Life, like MS, Parkinson’s, and …. What was subconscious now might need a little conscious effort in order to get control back.  It can happen, so come see us!

Most of the time it is due to our habits.

If we consume a lot of bladder irritating items, our bladder will contract. It’s pissed and wants to get those irritants out.  So we think we have to go and when we don’t really have to.  This is your 2 seconds pee.  A worthless pee.

This can also happen when we are stressed. Why? Because our “fight or flight” system working overtime and ……..something along the lines of making you think you have to pee, maybe reference IC?

The thing is if we give in to the worthless pees, the heightened urge to go, we now change our reflex. Now you have Urge Incontinence. Oh the snowball effect.
