Just In Case Peeing

What is UI? Simply, It’s the rush to sit on the toilet only to find a dribble of urine coming out.

Remember the NORMS?

Remember the REFLEX?

When we ante up the trips to the washroom, we change our reflexes and our bladder brain. We think we reaaaalllly have to go and we don’t. And then we reaaaalllly have to go often when we don’t need to.

Our body is amazing and it responds. Unfortunately, this is something we don't want it to adapt to.

How can we fix it? Come see a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist!

I am not sure where this started, but it needs to stop to prevent you from running to the bathroom all the time.

I am talking about “Just-in-case-pees.” This refers to the “Oh, let me go to the pee before we head to the restaurant” situations but not limited to the “let me go to the bathroom before we board the plane” scenarios.

Why do we do this?

These facilities have restrooms!

And what we’re really doing is setting ourselves up for URGE INCONTINENCE or OVERACTIVE BLADDER.
